The Shrub & Herr Hitler

Morgaine at The-Goddess offers a chilling picture of the degree to which The Shrub resembles Herr Hitler. Here's a snippet:

Without provocation, Germany America then invaded Poland Iraq, a sovereign country that could not defend itself and was no threat whatsoever to German American national security, overrunning it just a few weeks. Thousands upon thousands of Polish soldiers Iraqi Soldiers were killed in the defense of their homeland. Millions of Over 100,000 Polish Iraqi civilians also met their deaths as a result of the German American invasion.

"It also gives us a very special, secret pleasure to see how unaware the people around us are of what is really happening to them."

-- Adolf Hitler

And the sad thing is, Poland "officially" supported America's involvement in Iraq... Probably because they were afraid of being invaded yet again! Yay, Poland's been free for 15 years, let's see if we can make it to 20 before we lose statehood again!

Much of what I know about Poland comes from James Michener, who gave me a humongous appreciation and admiration for the country -- and also an appreciation of how many times it's been invaded. Why wouldn't that make a country sensitive to the possibility of yet another invasion. I'm sure Poland, like many of us, believed Bush when he insisted Iraq had WMD.

You did think at one point that Iraq had WMDs? I'm so glad I hung out with the Tent State socialists during that time, we researched (using google and mainstream newspaper archives) how ridiculous that whole thing was, right from the beginning... ::sigh::

BLARE WORDS

O, man with your loud megaphone
You can broadcast your spiel
To every ear: when you are done
That will not make it real.

O, instrument of state--you, man--
Blare words to beardless youth,
Grizzled octogenarian--
Yet it will not be truth.
