Goddess Wisdom from Paul McCartney

~*Let it Be*~
"When the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer,
Let it be, let it be."

“Let it Be” …begins with Paul [McCartney] saying [that] when he finds himself in times of trouble, "Mother Mary" comes to him. I had always thought that Mary meant the virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus. But Paul's mother was also named Mary, and she died when he was a young boy.

In the song Mary comes like an angel whispering to him these wise words-- let it be. "Let it be" means let go, relax, don't worry about your troubles…. [don’t] think about sad things too much, … accept … bad things … that [you] cannot change.

But this is not the only message in Paul's song… MORE>>>

Oh my goodness, I thought it meant the virgin Mary too! Oh man, I remember when I was little, this song meant SO much to me because of that...

My own feeling is that he meant *both* Mary the Goddess (whittled down by the god boys, of course) and his own mother. The song has more than one double meaning tucked away here and there.

I never thought of it as looking at the Goddess, but when I read it now and think of the song it makes perfect sense. Thank you for sharing that, and for reminding me of one of my favorite songs as I was growing up
