HOLY christian JIHAD

Yesterday Cousin Harold ripped me off a piece-of-trash email that’s circling the Net and trying to pump us all full of fear. First it says Islam is "the fastest growing religion per capita in the United States" after which it shouts, “most … clerics of Islam have declared a holy war against the infidels of the world…”

I don't know about the first part, but the second is not true. Most Islamic leaders don’t push violence any more than Christian clerics do. Also, this circulating foolishness totally skips over the part where Jehovah and Jesus too push the idea of killing heretics:

Here’s Jumpin’ Jehovah: "If you hear that in one of the towns ... there are men ... saying, ‘Let us go and serve other gods,’ ... it is your duty to ... put the inhabitants of that town to the sword; you must lay it under the curse of destruction -- the town and everything in it" (Deuteronomy 13: 12-16).

And Mr. Jesus: "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned" (John 15:6).

My fundie sis says "they want to kill us all." Oh please. Is she talking about Christianity or Islam? I can't tell.

Someone is really pushing this idea lately that Christians are being super persecuted. I've gotten this "news" recently from both my sister and Cousin Doris. Of course I do remember something about Christian Southeast Asian girls in the not-too-distant past being beheaded by Muslims.

The thing is, the Abrahamaic "religion" is a fighting machine. Even if one branch killed off the other two, the branch left would split into two new branches, and they'd fight each other. The splits could go on ad infinitum, until only one man was left -- and he'd probably make himself schizoid just so his two halves could fight each other to the death.

Well, there are some places in the world (the USA is not one) where Christians are often persecuted.

My ears always perk up when I hear an American Christian crying about persecution. They've had a ridiculous cultural advantage from the start = what they call persecution is just taking that advantage away so everyone is treated fairly. They're so religio-centric that they think their religion deserves the special treatment they expect. Talk about entitlement!

Anon, in your Bible is an ugly admonition: "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth."

Considering the amount of persecution Christians have perped on non-Christians -- in the Inquisition, in WWII re: the Jews and gypsies, and in the wipeout of the North American Indian population -- the total lot of you today don't have enough total eyes to sacrifice to atone for your sins.
