These days, like the frog in the water pot sitting on the fire, we’re callous to the unthinkable. So another war – Iran this time? – nuclear? – doesn’t faze us. Nor does WWIII with us and the Brits getting slammed to the mat by a tight circle of Chinese (1/5 of humanity), Russians, French and Iranians. So who gives a fig if WWIII starts next week?

"WASHINGTON DC -- The long awaited US military attack on Iran is now on track for the first week of April, specifically for 4 AM on April 6, the Good Friday opening of Easter weekend, writes the well-known Russian journalist Andrei Uglanov…. Uglanov cites Russian military experts close to the Russian General Staff for his account.
"The attack is slated to last for 12 hours, … 4 AM until 4 PM local time. Friday is the Sabbath in Iran. In the course of the attack, code named Operation Bite, about 20 targets are marked for bombing; the list includes uranium enrichment facilities, research centers, and laboratories…."

You made me cry. You are wonderful! I am glad to share the planet with you.
Perhaps we are blessed to be living now. Perhaps Our Goddess will see us through this particular WarGod crisis, so we can marshall for the REAL struggle--staving off our slide into eco-oblivion. How warm are the winters now in Maine? And, what is the carbon footprint for one day of the Iraq war? We know the dollar cost is $255,000,000/day.
How do we stay positive? My 20-year-old son and I debate this a lot. He says now is an 'exciting time'. Sure 'nuff is that. He even calibrates it: 70% darkness (the WarGod ugly death kind--not the Goddess womb embrace kind) and 30% excitement. He has vigiled with me in the streets against the biggest current war (Iraq) and has promised to try busing and bicycling, for Gaia's sweet planet, Our Home.
So, we'll see, won't we? Especially, we may get to see what response our fellow Americans will have to an unprovoked nuclear attack by America --whether 4/6, or not. This may be a litmus test for whether we deserve to survive as a people, formerly democratic, now fascist. Judging from the response to my anti-war activities this time around, I'm not expecting too much here. I'm hoping that more sentient creatures around the globe will erupt.
Goddess humans are special, like the small, furry mammals burrowing at the feet of the lumbering dinosaurs--and WAITING for their time. I know that Goddess has returned and is looking for the best time and place to make Her move. She is making it already in us--and in your Goddess group.

I'm getting concerned about this too, In particular the British response to the latest incident in the Persian gulf. Never mind that we are still in the last two wars that our leaders lied us into. A scarily large number of people think that invading Iran and or/nuclear bombs are the way forward.
What a bunch of sheep.
The government has shown us a powerpoint presentation with dots on it, clearly showing the British ships in Iraqi waters (where of course they have every right to be!), so this obviously proves we are in the right (unlike the last time this happened).
Last month Hilary Mann warned that the Bush administration was planning a provocative incident to justify a war with Iran, (like maybe sending 15 lightly armed sailors into enemy waters and then letting them get captured).
The most powerful thing anyone did against the Iraq invasion in Britain was the fire service strike. The army stand in for the fire service when they are on strike. I don't know if that would work in the states.
Parking old cars in front of military bases (or other government buildings, or just letting them accidentally break down in inconvenient places can be fun too.
My girlfriend delayed the loading and departure of a major battleship for several hours this way (imagine if a few hundred other people had done the same thing!). We've all had parking tickets before :-)
I don’t know about Great Britain, but I wonder if there are so many people in the US now who are so hurting (financially, psychologically, spiritually), and so afraid (Bush keeps pumping us with fear), and so jaded (who can trust the govt.), that they’d actually welcome another war. Steve Taylor in the *The Fall* talks about how war drains our boredom. I think it may also drain our anger and fear. The ultimate TV thriller. At least at first, in the shock n awe phase. The phase where we’re winning.
