Traipsing AROUND WITH TROLLS

I can't believe what a blast it is to play with trolls! People always moan and groan about them, but I think they're adorable.

It's much more entertaining chitting around with them than it is working on the index I'm trying to write.

Like little fireflies, they dart in and out, trying to make waves in the air around you.

Reminds me of the time I was 10 and my brother was 6.

He'd sneak up behind me and give my arm a tweak with his forefinger. Although he knew he couldn't get away with just outright walloping me, he also knew that a small tweak was something I couldn't get any sympathy for, from Mom or Dad.

"You're older than he is," Mom would say. "Deal with it."

Ah, the good old days.

Did you delete your brother?

No, warz, he's still very much alive and kicking. But very respectful

Are you?

Not always, Warz.

Yes trolls can be fun to play with like little bugs, annoying like flies, but fun to squish.

Livia, I wonder if trolls could be divided into two categories: the educable and the un-? Or maybe lined up on a contimuum, from most educable to least.

You might think twice about deleting them, though, unless they hurt your feelings so that you can't stand it. Otherwise they bolster your thesis in very blatant ways.

Do you have a regular job? If not, when is the last time you actually worked full time to make a living? Are you really a hippie? How do you support yourself or do you depend upon the government to provide for you? Just wondering based on what some have written.

anon,

Where were you born? In a horse barn? Who taught you to go into a stranger's home and ask them questions such as "When is the last time you actually worked"?

Don't bother to knock on the door here again until you've picked up some manners.

anne, I might be in the minority, but here's how I look at it: My weblog is the equivalent of my home. Ya don't invite people into your homes if they're sassy and impolite. You give them at the most a couple of chances, and if the rudeness doesn't stop, you just don't ask them back again. Unless of course you're a masochist.

With a blog, the equivalent of not inviting someone back to your house is either blocking or deleting them. And since I don't think we can block people on Blogger, the only option left is to delete them.

If you ever get back to this post again, let me know what you think.

When attacked by a troll, I delete everything but keep a copy. On Blogger, you can report them to the administrator. I they use email, write to the domain admin. You never know when some nut crosses the line from irritating to dangerous. Just one more side effect of living in Starvation Culture - predatory males.
