"The president of the leading Southern Baptist seminary has incurred sharp attacks from both the left and right by suggesting that a biological basis for homosexuality may be proven, and that prenatal treatment to reverse gay orientation would be biblically justified."

The Goddess weeps. What is up with these people. They go on and on about the sanctity of the unborn child and then suggest it is good to medicate unborn children to make them conform to their narrow morality. It is truly frightening, as is their obvious belief that homsexuality is a bigger moral issue than war, famine, rape, and the environmental destruction of the earth. Even the Episcopalians managed to meet in Nigeria on a continent wracked with war, poverty, environmental damage, torture... only to virtually ignore all this and spend all their time debating homosexual bishops. Lets go with the bonobo's. Rant over.
ReplyDeleteSo homosexuality is natural according to science and sinful according to the bible. Therefore God made some of us gay, but gave us the intelligence to develop genetic engineering so we could change gay foetuses into straight ones.
ReplyDeleteMoses, Abraham, Elijah and all the other patriarchs for the last 5 million years (or 5000 years depending on your point of view) were therefore sinful for not developing genetic engineering sooner, and its their fault that so many gay people were born, died and burned in hell. God must have forgotten to include "thou shalt invent genetic engineering as soon as possible" as the 11th commandment.
The logic is impeccable but maybe one of the original assumptions is wrong? Doncha just love theology?
I can't wait for the world to see that these religions of Abraham aren't religions at all. They're ruses to control large populations. The whole point is to get people to roll over and bark on command. Christ and Mary aren't too bad, but they're pale and weak and no one pays much attention to them -- especially when Jehovah marches into the room.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the money. A few people make a lot of money and weild a lot of power by convincing people that war is necessary and "god" is on their side. When are people going to wake up and stop letting war profiteers dictate their religions and their taxes?
ReplyDeletePaul has given me an idea for a t-shirt : "You might be descended from chimps, but I'm with the Bonobos!"
