Babies, keep an eye on Big Money.
Big Money's a sickness just like the gambling sickness – it sucks ordinary people in before they know what hit them.
Big-Money sickness comes from Big-Daddy God and his social hierarchy that he wears around his shoulders like a coat of fleas. In Mother-Goddess societies everyone’s important -- no one, for example, deserves food anymore than anyone else. In Big-Daddy-God societies, you have homeless dudes lying in ditches, and oil-rich dudes "living in" 600-room mansions. And all of us War-Goddites, we say, “Oh, some of us are so good we deserve 600 unused rooms; others are so bad they should sleep outside and die.”
This is the Big-Daddy Effect. Unlike the love of the Mother Goddess, Big Daddy's love comes with strings. If you don’t say How High? when he says Jump, you end up a homeless dude dying in the ditch.
Anyway, of all the filthy things Big Money’s doing, the worst is wiping humans off the planet by ruffling our climate. Almost more disgusting than that, BM is trying to fool you into thinking that the heroes trying to warn us about climate change and global warming are a buncha ninnies.

This weblog is dedicated to the Goddess and to saving the planet -- by gently replacing God the Father with God the Mother by the year 2035. Too simplistic? Nope, I don't think so. Female deities are role models for unconditional love. Violent sky/war gods are dangerous, to men as well as women. People are biologically programmed to need religion of one kind or another. (BTW, "thea"=Goddess, "theo"=god)

STARS Streaming INTO THEIR EYES
The latest is, Big Money made up a fake organization – the “Tennessee Center for Policy Research” -- and used it to slam Al Gore. Go HERE for more.
Gore, of course, is the dude with enough guts to stand up against Big Money. Gore’s trying to warn us that BM is threatening to wipe us off the planet with the sludge it spews into our air and water 24/7, as it makes its widgets, which it sells to us so it can get even Bigger with more and more Money.
Now I promise yur gonna get hit in the head with a lotta cow pies coming from Big Money about how Global Warming’s all a Big Buncha Rubbish.
Whenever you get so slammed, ask yourself:
1. What do people like Al Gore have to gain by lying about global warming? Answer: Not a heck of a lot.
2. What does Big Money have to gain by lying about global warming? Answer: Money streaming into their coffers like stars streaming in from the heavens -- they get to keep on ramming our air and water full of filthy sludge in the process of making their widgets they sell to bring in the stars.

HOPI MOTHER GODDESS on the Slimy Slide
The "Hopi Mythology" section on Wikipedia was Condemned, so I replaced it with the following. Even though it's referenced to the teeth, I'm wondering how long the War Gods out there will let my entry live and breathe:
Dozier, Edward, The Pueblo Indians of North America (Case Studies in Anthropology, New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, Inc., 1970).
Gunn Allen, Paula, The Sacred Hoop (Boston: Beacon Press, 1992).
Hultkrantz, Ake, “The Religion of the Goddess in North America,” The Book of the Goddess Past and Present: An Introduction to Her Religion, Carl Olson, editor (New York: Crossroad Publishing Co., 1990).
Wall, Dennis, and Virgil Masayesva, “People of the Corn: Teachings in Hopi Traditional Agriculture, Spirituality, and Sustainability,” American Indian Quarterly, Summer/Fall 2004, Vol. 28, Issue ¾, pp. 435-453.
"The Hopi Mother Earth was symbolized by their Corn Mother, 'Spider Woman, Sand Altar Woman, and other female spirits conceived to be the mothers of all living things. This mother is represented in the cult by the sipapuni, the opening in the floor of the underground ceremonial chamber, or kiva, for the sipapuni is the womb of Mother Earth, just as it is the hole through which humankind originally emerged from the underworld' (Hultkrantz 1990: 213-14).__
“'For traditional Hopis, corn is the central bond. Its essence, physically, spiritually, and symbolically, pervades their existence. For the people of the mesas corn is sustenance, ceremonial object, prayer offering, symbol, and sentient being unto itself. Corn is the Mother in the truest sense that people take in the corn and the corn becomes their flesh, as mother milk becomes the flesh of the child' (Wall 2004).
"Traditionally the Hopis saw the goddess Spider Woman as their creator: 'The Hopi see Spider Woman as Grandmother of the sun and as the great Medicine Power who sang the people into this fourth world we live in now” (Gunn Allen 1992: 19). Under centuries of pressure by white culture, however, Spider Woman has recently turned male: “The Hopi goddess Spider Woman has become the masculine Maseo or Tawa…'” (Gunn Allen 1992: 41).

BORN BAD?
In a comment a few days ago, anne said “I think some people are born mean and some have meanness thrust upon them.… I once had a cat that was born mean. We got it as a kitten and treated it kindly, but it was just nasty from day one, deliberately aggressive. We were all glad when it up and disappeared one day.”
You might be right, anne. It could be that some humans are just born bad because of messed-up hormones or something. On the other hand, here’s the difference between your born-mean kitty and a born-mean baby girl. Baby Girl comes with a humongous brain for learning. Why? Because we humans are born dumb as mud. Your kitty came born with a bushel-load of instincts – automatic operating instructions. Your kitty is born running. Very little education needed, and it can take care of itself in the big wide world.
This is why most animal babies are on their own in weeks or months, whereas Baby Girl can be camped out on your doorstep til she’s forty. She comes as dumb as a doorknob, and it takes years to get her packed with operating instructions.
So the thing is, you have years to pack Baby Girl with instructions that can override her hormones. But does Baby Girl listen to you? Sometimes. However, she also watches you (and others) for clues about how to behave.
Here’s what animals get that we don’t: Female rats are scared of everything – including baby rats. But when they’re injected with the hormones estrogen and oxytocin* these rats go into full-blown baby-being-born mode. They suddenly begin to build nests. They grab any baby they can find and plop it into the new nest. They wash the babies. They defend the babies against all would-be intruders. And even though they have no milk, these females settle down next to the babies in baby-nursing posture (Moberg 2003: 67).
Know anybody born knowing how to build a house? (Or even a rat’s nest?) No. We are born dumb as mud. We have to learn everything.
And if Baby Girl never ever sees anyone killing a homeless dude, and she is taught how to go to the gym and tickle her messed-up hormones by playing racquetball, then my guess is she won’t ever kill any homeless dudes.
___________
*Oxytocin is the hormone that helps females in all species bond with their babies.

MEN Honored BY THE NAME 'MOTHER'
"At Laguna* all entities, human or super-natural, who are functioning in a ritual manner at a high level are called Mother.... The cacique [peace leader] is addressed as mother by the war captain.... The Turkey-Buzzard Spirit is greeted as mother by the shaman who goes to consult him. When the cacique goes to consult with the k'apina shamans, he greets them saying, 'How are things, mothers of everyone, chiefs of everyone.'"
About "Motherness":
"Its value signifies something other than the kind of sentimental respect for motherhood that is reflected in American's Mother's Day observances. It is ritually powerful, a condition of being that confers the highest adeptship on whoever bears the title. So central to ritual activities is it in Indian cultures that men are honored by the name mother...."
About the Mother-Goddess power to create life:
“The old ones were empowered by their certain knowledge that the power to make life is the source and model for all ritual magic and that no other power can gainsay it. Nor is that power really biological at base; it is the power of ritual magic, the power of Thought, of Mind, that gives rise to biological organisms as it gives rise to social organizations, material culture, and transformations of all kinds – including hunting, war, healing, spirit communication, rain-making, and all the rest.”
From Paula Gunn-Allen, The Sacred Hoop: Recovering the Feminine in American Indian Traditions, 1992, pp. 28-29).

“HEY MOM. COULD YOU Save THE WORLD?
“Women are experienced in looking after the children and fragile elders, cleaning up, setting the house in order, being frugal with resources, putting food on the table, maintaining peace in the family, and staying on good terms with the neighbors. These are the same tasks that need doing in the community, and on a national and planetary scale. The world needs what women can do. The world needs ‘mother’ to set things right in our unbalanced world.”From Jean Bolen’s website.

uNHOLY mATRIMONY
“The word ‘marriage’ came from Latin maritare, union under the auspices of the Goddess Aphrodite-Mari.
"Because the Goddess’s patronage was constantly invoked in every aspect of marriage, Christian fathers were opposed to the institution.
"Origen declared, ‘Matrimony is impure and unholy, a means of sexual passion.’
"St. Jerome said the primary purpose of a man of God was to ‘cut down with an ax of Virginity the wood of Marriage.’
"St. Ambrose said marriage was a crime against God, because it changed the state of virginity that God gave every man and women at Birth….”

WARRIOR GODDESSES
Warrior goddesses were invented by War Gods. We’ve scared up little evidence that humans had war before 3000 BC. If we didn’t do war, why would we worship war goddesses? For the first three-fourths of the timeline below, no war. War goddesses pop up only in the last fourth of the chart.
I believe a primary source of war is abandonment of Goddess. If we adore a world with non-stop war, let’s keep our war gods. But if we prefer peace (but still excitement, challenge and lotsa fun and games), we woo back Goddess.
War is the opposite of Goddess. Sure, Goddess is about death, but first She’s birth, life and regeneration. For gosh sake, people, the Great Goddess is a mother! Mothers abhor war -- and anything else that prematurely bites off peoples' lives.
“Hey, Jamie! Come quick! Your fave cartoon is on! The warrior Jealous!* He’s gonna bring the bubonic plague down on that city he hates – New York! Then he’s gonna make George Bush kill one of his daughters (George gets to choose which)! After that he’s gonna electrocute a boy who sassed his dad! Quick, I don’t want you to miss this! The whole country says this dude is the one you’re supposed to grow up to be like!”

GODDESS Timeline
Wouldn't I love to own one of these! The Goddess ubiquitous in time and space. I might hafta break down and spring for one. Go HERE to see more.
TIME TO Ditch THE DUDE
Babies, we need a new Role Model. Big Daddy War God aka “The-Lord-Is-a-Warrior”* isn’t cutting it. We need Mother Goddess to sweep back and calm us down.
Goddess men were manly enough to be manly and motherly too. Today, however, men crawl all over each other to see who can be most like the bloodthirsty, bully-gods Jehovah, Allah and Yahweh.
Never underestimate the power of role models:
Right after a hot new video game on killing the homeless hit the shelves, American boys began killing the homeless. “A segment called 'Bum Hunter,' hosted by a Crocodile Hunter-like actor wearing a safari outfit, shows him 'tagging' homeless people by pouncing on them and binding their wrists” to make it easier to kill them.
Some homeless-killer-boys “… have said they were inspired by ‘Bumfights,’ a video series created in 2002 and sold on the Web that features homeless people pummeling each other for the promise of a few bucks.”
Meanwhile, the National Coalition for the Homeless reports that “last year, there were 122 attacks and 20 murders against the homeless, the most attacks in nearly a decade.”
Here's just one case of how un-Goddess-trained testosterone with some boys wrapped around it, beat a man to death. This collection of Untrained T had a beer with the man and then casually murdered him:
"Luis says 'I'm gonna go hit him,' We're all laughing, thought he was joking around,'" but he wasn't, Moore concedes. "We just all started hitting him."
“They hurled anything they could find -- rocks, bricks, even Baum's barbecue grill -- and pounded the 49-year-old with a pipe and with the baseball bat he kept at his campsite for protection.
“Ihrcke smeared his own feces on Baum's face before cutting him with a knife "to see if he was alive," Moore said.
“After destroying Baum's camp, the boys left the homeless man -- head wedged in his own grill -- under a piece of plastic where they hoped the "animals would eat" him.
“Then, Moore says, they took off to grab a bite at McDonald's.”
"They bragged about it around town....
"Ihrcke told police that killing 'the bum' reminded him of playing a violent video game, a police report shows.
"Criminologists call these wilding sprees 'sport killing,' -- largely middle-class teens, with no criminal records, assaulting the homeless with bats, golf clubs, paintball guns."

THE GODDESS & THE Tarot Cards
Today I pulled out my trusty old Tarot deck to see about the role of Goddess men. It was Goddess-loving Minoan men who sailed the known world in search of gold, silver and precious stones and other things too – glittering tales from beyond, magic. Among the Great-Mother-worshiping Mosuo of China, too, it’s men who do the traveling and exploring.
Explorers come home with tons of tales to tell, i.e., as entertainers. Interestingly, the pre-Christian Tarot paint men in these same two roles: explorer and entertainer:
Other than the ruler cards (king, emperor and pope), the male cards in the major arcana are The Fool, The Magician, The Hermit, The Chariot, and The Hanged Man. All but the last are travelers. The Fool, the first card in the deck, is “the Green Man, the harbinger of a new cycle of existence, the herald of new life.” Also, however, The Fool is the “vagabond who exists on the fringe of organized life, going his own way”.
Originally The Magician too was probably a vagabond, “…the traveling showman, an entertainer like The Fool, who moved from town to town“. And The Hermit is an old man “setting off on the first stage of a journey… trudging along a dark and lonely road…”. The Charioteer in his suit of armor has “…no obvious mythological antecedents”; considering the chariot was originally a war vehicle, I think he's a later War-God addition.
Two of the above five cards show men as entertainers. Costumed as a court jester, The Fool is the medieval entertainer par excellence, the Brad Pitt and Jon Stewart of his day. Many jesters were “…highly gifted acrobats, singers and dancers …” traveling “far and wide, offering [their] services to those … who could afford [them]." Gallivanting from town to town “either alone or with a troop of actors," The Magician too was an entertainer, putting on shows and telling fortunes.
And what about The Hanged Man card? The Hanged Man “…cannot be found in any orthodox Christian symbology, and is one of the clearest indications that the Tarot trumps ... illustrate some non-Christian system....” The tree The Hanged Man hangs on is a “…symbol of the mother as the source of all sustenance; those who die on the tree are therefore being reunited with their source, through which they may be reborn into new life…”
Thirty-five years ago, Alfred Douglas said the meaning of The Hanged Man is this: “To achieve ... success ... one must align oneself with the rules of the universe rather than the laws of man.” The universe: the Great Mother Goddess of course, synonym for earth and cosmos alike.

THE SUPERIOR SEX?
Sometimes it seems almost impossible to say something nice about women without women reading it as something bad said about men.
In my mind, this is pure sexism. These are concerned and kind-hearted women, but they're certain they’re superior to men: in their eyes, men are such weenies they’d shrivel and die if women weren’t constantly handy to jump to their defense.
Mind you I'm not saying all of us women have our heads shoved this far into the sand, but this is a tendency to watch for.

Speaking THROUGH TREE LIMBS
The Great Mother’s howling around my house, speaking to me, throwing dancing shadows of winter tree limbs on the snow behind my deck. Went out to shovel and thought I felt Her inside me: “You, able to bear life, you know Me. Those who can’t bear life can’t know Me unless you tell them. They're destroying that part of Me that keeps your species alive. Tell them that -- that through their ignorance they're annihilating themselves.”

CHRIST WHO?
Whoever said Christianity’s about Christ? Two-thirds of the Christian Rule Book (aka “Bible”) is about that hoary old War-God Jehovah. Christ doesn’t pop up until the third inning. And even then he’s only sonny boy. When it comes to dads and sons, we all know Daddy rules.

BUDDHA Meets THE GREAT GODDESS
The Great Mother Goddess says,
"Like the Daddy War-Gods Jehovah, Yahweh, Allah and Vishnu, U 2, Buddha, are a coke & heroin gig. You lull 90% into choking down poverty and powerlessness so 10% can swim in riches. You're a 'state religion' -- keep the slaves shot up, forestall those uprisings against the rich.
"My children: Always be very chary of religions smelling like 'be happy in your misery.' They're either War-God religions or cousins thereof. I, your Great Mother, bore you all to be free, equal, and outrageously happy. You should be spending half of each day, 24/7, playing games and laughing like idiots. All of you. Snap to it!"

thnx to lhumble for offering one of the few fotos available of someone laughing like an idiot. What's the matter with you people? Why d'ya hafta be under 7 or over 70 to laugh?!?

FUNDIE ORGS, List of
I feel into lists lately. How 'bout a list of wonko, weirdo, whacked-out fundie orgs?
Pastor Fred Phelps ("God Hates Fags")
Quiverful ("Birth a quiverful of babies/arrows for Jesus")
Real Men for Jesus ("Jesus was a macho man")
Less Whacked Out (?) But Still Out There:
American Family Association
Christian Coalition
Concerned Women for America
Coral Ridge Ministries
Family Research Council

Know of any other juicy ones?
Let's send healing energy to these groups. They didn't ask to be born and pitched into the pathetic pits that are the Daddy War-God machines. They were born gorgeous and lovable, like all the rest of us.

Know of any other juicy ones?
Let's send healing energy to these groups. They didn't ask to be born and pitched into the pathetic pits that are the Daddy War-God machines. They were born gorgeous and lovable, like all the rest of us.
On FUNDIES & FLEAS
Ever wonder why fundies resemble Jesus about as much as fleas resemble a thoroughbred Appaloosa?

"The reason why so many fundamentalist Christians are so notoriously "unChristian" is simple: for the majority of Christians (Quakers are among many notable exceptions) Christianity isn't about the teachings of Jesus, and never was. The early church fathers knew that Jesus' rather Buddhist message of nonviolence and voluntary poverty wouldn't fly in the Graeco-Roman world, let alone in the Middle East. The idea of a Redeemer on the other hand--someone who would voluntarily sacrifice Himself for humanity and their sins--was very popular. Instead of having to give up their worldly goods and espouse non-violence, all the Romans had to do was believe in the miraculous stories surrounding Jesus' birth and death, which was easy for them, since such stories had been told about pagan gods and heroes and were already familiar.
"Christianity as it exists among fundamentalists isn't about behaving like Jesus. It's all about faith--about believing the story. The underlying message seems to be: you can behave any way you want as long as you believe the story and say you're sorry before you die. Following the teachings of Jesus is much too demanding, whereas with the Christianity of fundamentalists all you have to do is shut your mind off."

REAL Men for Jesus
It just keeps getting better and better:
"A group calling themselves Real Men For Jesus argue that Jesus wasn't really the Bleeding Heart liberal he pretended to be, because after all he went around overturning tables, and was belligerent and destructive and made messes for other people to clean up, just like a macho man is supposed to do--just like George Bush, for example."From "Is Religion Inherently Homicidal," by Philip Slater on Huffington Post. Scratching MY HEAD
I just don't get it.
Why would anyone choose to worship snooty, snobby, scroogie, stuffed-shirt, sexually-uptight, violent, war-ridden, me-first bully-boy boors with two left feet like Jehovah, Yahweh, Allah, Vishnu and others, when they could have an egalitarian, democratic, non-violent, peaceful, smart, sensual, creative, freedom-loving, gorgeous, generous Great Mother Goddess who loves them ecstatically?

THE GOD WHO Wasn't THERE
Bowling for Columbine did it to the gun culture.
Super Size Me did it to fast food.
Now The God Who Wasn't There does it to religion.
Holding modern Christianity up to a bright spotlight, this bold and often hilarious new film asks the questions few dare to ask.
Your guide through the world of Christendom is former fundamentalist Brian Flemming, joined by such luminaries as Jesus Seminar fellow Robert M. Price, professor Richard Dawkins, author Sam Harris and historian Richard Carrier.
See the movie the Los Angeles Times calls "provocative - to put it mildly."
Hold on to your faith. It's in for a bumpy ride.

Traveling TO GODDESS ON A BUDGET
Hot new book: Karen Tate’s Sacred Places of Goddess: 108 Destinations.
After reading this, I understand why people cozy up in living room recliners with travel books. Ya feel like you have a friend named Karen leading you by the hand around the world to the Goddess. You actually feel you’re inside Hina’s Cave in Hawaii, or inside the Temple of Hera on the Island of Samos, or gazing at the Labyrinth in Britain’s Glastonbury Tor. This more-than-a-travel book is dense with fascinating female-deity facts and blocks of solid info backed up by a 12-page bibliography. It’s also packed with photos, drawings and maps, too – at least one to every page spread.
With Sacred Places you will be winging your way to:
O Clonegal Castle and Newgrange in Ireland.
O The temples of Dendera in Egypt and the Sekhmet Temple at Karnak. The Isis Temple of Philae.
O The Temple of Oshun in Nigeria
O The Temple of Ishtar in Iraq
O The ancient Goddess cities of Mohenjo-daro and Harappa in Pakistan.
O Mount Gulaga in Australia
O Machu Picchu in Peru.
O The Isla de Mujeres in the Yucatan.
O Spider Rock in Arizona, the Isis Oasis Sanctuary in California, and to the Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve in Wisconsin.
O Ggantija in Malta
O Ephesus and Catal Huyuk in Turkey
O And to over 90 other places powerful with Goddess.
If you're on a budget, this is the way to travel.

WHY CAN'T WE ALL BE THIS Good?
Jeezum, I’m coming up in the world, getting featured on this fine blog! Especially considering that the writers and commenters possess such rich and splendid vocabularies. Their thinking is impressive, too: how can we worry about eradicating war when we all need to focus on the tensions of the day?
Dudes! Keep up the good work! Need more blogs around like yours.

PEACEFUL Protests
We need to march outside all War-God churches, colleges, seminaries and other institutions. What would our signs say? “Mothers, Protect Your Babies from War Gods.” “Jehovah Admits he’s a Warrior: Exod. 15:3.” “To Stop War, Stop War Gods.” “Christianity’s a Cult, Not a Religion.” “Christians Kill.” “Protect Yourself from Christianity.” “Abolish War Gods, Abolish War.” “The Bible Contains ’Warrior’ and ‘War’ 300 Times.” Similarly for Vishnu’s and Yahweh’s temples and Allah's mosques.

MALE GODS: Automatic WAR?
Do male gods automatically lead to war, hierarchy and dominance? Is there something about many men such that, when they get power, they do a hunter-group thing? I mean like they hafta have one guy bossing, and everybody else doing a “whatever thou sayest, o thou mighty one” type of thing? Or is it perhaps only men with an overshot of testosterone? Help me out on this!
